Introduction

Almughavars were an indigenous infantry-type from Spain. They were held in high-repute in warfare in Spain, Sicily and the Byzantine Empire.

DBM categorises these foot as Ax(S)- superior Auxiliaries.

It has been argued that they should be classed as Bd(F) or Bd(X).
